Orange County Children’s Therapeutic Arts Center (OCCTAC) is a community-based organization committed to providing access to services for all families including those impacted by physical, cognitive, language, social, emotional disabilities, or that are at risk. OCCTAC’s mission is to provide innovative, artistic, educational, and therapeutic programs that transform and inspire children, at-promise youth, and families to fulfill their highest potential in life. We have been providing services for the past 22 years to families in Santa Ana and Orange County with special focus on individuals with disabilities, from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Many of the families we serve are multicultural, monolingual, and low-income immigrants. OCCTAC has been very successful in reaching out to underserved communities that are not seeking traditional therapeutic services due to cultural and linguistic factors. Our success is based on our knowledge, experience, and expertise in working with families. Our staff is bilingual/bicultural and are committed to meet the needs of the community.

Position Information

Supervisor: Founder and Executive Director

Full-time or Part-time: Full-time, 40 hr./week

Exempt/Non-exempt: Non-exempt

Purpose of the Position:

Reporting to the Founder and Executive Director, the Fund Development Coordinator contributes to the success of fund development activities by developing, coordinating, and measuring donor relationship and stewardship methods and services; applies OCCTAC’s marketing and communication activities that enhance donor relations; and provides support for development initiatives with OCCTAC’s Board of Directors, Executive Director, staff, donors, and sponsors.

The Fund Development Coordinator must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines. In addition, he/she must have the ability to thrive in an environment that requires significant self-initiative, change, the ability to anticipate project needs, manage multiple projects at once, and collaborate among many team members both internal and external

Primary Responsibilities:  

​​Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Work with Executive Director to implement Annual Fundraising Strategy.

• Help implement stewardship, cultivation and solicitation strategies.

• Collaborate with Marketing team for giving opportunities.

• Engage with internal and external stakeholders in support of event coordination and fund development activities.

• Assist with crafting written donor correspondences including regularly updated donor acknowledgment letter templates, email updates, and impact statements based on provided data and anecdotes.

• Participate in development and maintenance of fund development budget.

• Provide reports on statistical analysis, metrics, and measurements of fund development projects and activities.

• Ensure the administration and coordination of donation processing, receipting, acknowledgment and pledge management is executed in a timely manner per the donor management process.

• Create, maintain, and execute queries and reports that track fundraising and campaign progress.

• Assist in developing and maintaining new initiatives to grow revenue and OCCTAC’s brand reach and exposure.

• Perform other duties in support of the organization’s work as may be assigned by the Executive Director.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and knowledge of the charitable sector. Education or experience in fundraising, communications, public relations, or related field is desired.

• Minimum of 2 years related work experience in fund development, non-profit setting, or customer service. Knowledge of major gifts, legacy giving, and/or relationship management a strong asset.

• Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills required to build effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, including staff, donors, board members, and volunteers, local and virtual communities

• Strong teamwork, relational, problem-solving and facilitation skills.

• Analytical and project management skills.

• Proficiency working with a customer relationship management tool (CRM), as well as intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.

• Demonstrated self-discipline and self-motivation, ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Strong ethical character in handling donations and confidential financial and relational information.

• Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends as required for donor or committee meetings, key events, and other OCCTAC priority activities, as needed.

• Access to a personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and insurance.

Salary:

• This is a full-time, salaried position. We anticipate a starting salary in the range of $46,000 - $50,000, depending on qualifications.
